Before leaving Colorado, we made sure to get a few hours outside of Denver. We drove to Redstone and Marble. As a girl who spent approximately four months hunting down the perfect marble coffee table, I can say with confidence that being in a town where giant slabs of the stone casually appear under shrubbery, in the creek, as basketball court benches was one of the best experiences ever. Dozens of sculptors work on pieces under pitched tents… power-drilling and chiseling away- so neat. We couldn’t breach the gate of the Marble quarry at the top of the mountain, but we did have a picnic spread overlooking the hills and forrest. And then there was that rainbow. Preeeetty magical.
