Immediately after my last post it made little sense not to drive to Charleston, SC. It’s a three hour road trip & I haven’t been back since I graduated SEVEN MONTHS ago. Surreal. That place. So special. #JustALittleTooPerfect #JustALittleTooWorthIt .

I get incredibly homesick when I go places. It’s not ideal, but it’s manageable. The excitement of seeing a different setting, where other people are home, is worth feeling far from whatever grounds me. Traveling is important. Does something to the psyche and heart. All the things people say it does. (Some of which are grounding.) And I think about it, in general, a lot. I’m very excited for some upcoming trips, but right now I’m so happy to be in the Carolinas. In the faux-cold. With buttermilk biscuits (also things I think about a lot). Seeing what you can of the world is personal. It’s choice. What you look at and where you leave. And I love that.

Chillin’ with no makeup on…. Is how I’ll be spending Valentine’s Day. Obviously listening to new Drake. His surprise album is what I’ve now dubbed as V-Day Miracle 2015, and I plan on listening to it on repeat through the weekend. Danny and I are both sick-ish. So we have no reason to do anything but spend Saturday in our pajamas. He made a boss avgolemono soup (he introduced me to this Greek magic & it’s my absolute favorite!) and I have magazine reading to catch up on. It’s v cold in Raleigh, but nice (nothing like NYFW cold). And we have kissing to do.
My picks, accordingly.

The beautiful creatures over at A.Payne featured my musings on Love and Valentines day and whatever it is that we define as a love story. My current love story is eating granola and dropping it into my laptop keyboard while Danny makes coffee and talks back to the television. Happy Friday, friends.

I’m still day dreaming about Prague mornings. Everything should start with pastel streets and sculptures (even if the ones on the Charles Bridge are actually just really old replicas) and wool coats. We don’t have an excess of pretty winter wear in SC, and I’d rather not make any other compasrisons between Prague and the faux-rural mostly suburban city I live in.
Let’s just say I was happy. « Read the rest of this entry »
