Mornings A W A Y: North Shore, MN
August 31, 2016 § Leave a comment
Unreal beauty happening at Minnesota’s North Shore. My dad and I spent a day driving on the Superior Scenic Drive en route to the cabin. The weather was unexpectedly scorching, but the water was still. Mesmerizing. Postcard like. Perfect.
Along the drive, we hit Duluth, Two Harbors, Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock Lighthouse, and finished with Palisade Head. I never considered myself afraid of heights until that very moment, when I promptly had to turn right around and wait in the car. We also stopped for Dairy Queen (necessary) in Cloquet, MN- a little spot on the map where Frank Lloyd Wright designed a gas station. (It’s still in service.)
PSA: Go to MN. Listen to Prince. Look at lakes.
