2016 has been a strange year for America but an incredible year for books. I am awe-struck by the poetry releases this year (namely: Monica Youn’s Blackacre, Safiya Sinclair’s Cannibal, and Solmaz Sharif’s Look. ) and fiction releases have been suuuuuuper exciting as well (Colson Whitehead’s The Underground Railroad, Brit Bennett’s The Mothers). New York is so lovely this time of year! My mom came for a quick visit earlier this month and we crossed the Central Park Rowboats off our NYC bucket list. Sometimes I think the rowers on the pond look miserable out there, but we had a blast. The boats are available until November… so hurry to it if you’re into that.
