Some brunch inspiration for this weekend: Two Hands! I’ve been wanting to try the popular spot since I moved here, and I finally went last Saturday.
Two Hands is an Australian breakfast joint (I can count the number of times I’ve used the term ‘breakfast joint. Just once, just now.) known for its charming ambiance (clouds !!!! adorable little hanging clouds!!!) and healthy menu (fresh juices, superfood bowls, avo toast).
Last weekend had a bit of bizarre weather- cloudy, rainy mornings, heavy wind mixed with sunshine, freezing temps overnight. Aka everything to make my Spring Post look like a cruel April Fools joke…. Brunching here was the perfect choice for an instant boost of cheer. So colorful and bright. *Scours Pinterest for an illuminating cloud DIY tutorial.*

Raleigh makes me happy. Not just because my boyfriend live there, which probably helps, but because it’s a great city. I went for a long weekend in October and it was perfect timing. Weather, food, friends, errythang good… We stopped by all our favorite spots- coffee shops (Brew, Morning Times), restaurants (Beasley’s, Joule, Busy Bee, the Pit) (lots of comfort food for real), and did some fall festivities involving pumpkins and scary movies. How easy it is to miss the South when you’re away from it!
I brought my camera along and only managed to take photos over drinks at Bittersweet (they were pretty!), a random pumpkin patch photo, and some street views. If i was smarter I would have taken a photo of my “Eggs Beasley’s” at brunch. My bad.

Last Sunday I was more or less ready to lug my blongings (brocante purchases really weigh down a carry-on) to and fro Charles De Gualle….but at 8am, word reached me that my flight had cancelled. Tragedy! A whole day in Paris! Mine! To be had! On a Sunday! Too good to be true. « Read the rest of this entry »

Immediately after my last post it made little sense not to drive to Charleston, SC. It’s a three hour road trip & I haven’t been back since I graduated SEVEN MONTHS ago. Surreal. That place. So special. #JustALittleTooPerfect #JustALittleTooWorthIt .

How I didn’t expect my short trip in Glasgow to go: faking an immediate bereavement at midnight with my Swedish coworker, Johan, insisting we had to fly to Stockholm in the morning– receptionist doing his best to seem concerned but implying there was no unbooking in our future. Our accommodation was truly bad, but we survived. Twenty minutes after our stunt, we giddily took to the streets, grief-less, hungy, drunk.
It was a blast. It was dark. It was gloomy. The archictecure! The history! The art! The cafes! The easiest metro in the whole UK! We met up with our other coworkers, engaged and now on their way to Thailand (Alice: “Do you blog about us?” Me: Yes. Here. Now. I hope you’re safe.) who introduced us to their friend from Auckland, now living in G-Town, who did a seriously good job of showing us the city. I’m doing a lot of nationality and name dropping here, but all I’m saying: there is something better than exploring a good place—and that is exploring it in good company. In the words of Johan himself, it was a proper good time.
