Mornings Away: V E N I C E, Italy

Venice has an astonishing palette: pastels mixed with blues mixed with grays. I visited in the cold spring, and I’m now turning to those colors to get me through the cold winter (it is coming, I can feel it).
Looking back, I realize that I only posted photos from Murano & Burano, and Caffè Florian. I left out Venice’s best part: the water. The sinking buildings. The bright, bright blue.

Cocoa Beach Part II

Sometimes on a Monday morning during Winter, it helps to think about the beach. I already posted some ocean photos of my time visiting my Grandmother in Cocoa Beach in January, but here are even more tropical photos. I’ll let them do the talking. Have a great week, everyone!
^^^ Best for last! Love you, Nana! ^^^
P.S. You know what else is tropical? The One Morning Limited Edition Tea & Citrus candle. Now available in the shop. You’re welcome!

Spent a week out West with Danny to celebrate his birthday (more on that fun later) and fell totally in love. Here’s photos from Red Rock Canyon, just fifteen miles or so outside Vegas. We packed a lunch and took the scenic drive. Not a bad date. Nevada rocks!

I get incredibly homesick when I go places. It’s not ideal, but it’s manageable. The excitement of seeing a different setting, where other people are home, is worth feeling far from whatever grounds me. Traveling is important. Does something to the psyche and heart. All the things people say it does. (Some of which are grounding.) And I think about it, in general, a lot. I’m very excited for some upcoming trips, but right now I’m so happy to be in the Carolinas. In the faux-cold. With buttermilk biscuits (also things I think about a lot). Seeing what you can of the world is personal. It’s choice. What you look at and where you leave. And I love that.
